In recent years the Spanish town of Borja began to live much better. Coffers fill up the tourists who come here all year round. They all want to see a small mural of Jesus on the wall of the local Church. This mural created for a long time, but gained popularity a few years ago. After it was restored and turned into something strange.
The fresco titled Ecce Homo was created by artist elías garcía martínez in 1932. It is heavily decayed and was crumbling. Then 80-year-old local resident Cecilia Jimenez asked permission from the Abbot of the temple to restore the mural. The work lasted two years, and nothing bad Senora Jimenez was not planned.
When the woman presented the result of their labors, the men gaped in surprise. On the place where once was the face of the Son of God, now adorned with some kind of stuffed. Someone called him a potato with eyes, someone is a monkey, and the people strengthened the nickname Fluffy Jesus. Relatives of the painter that painted the mural, even wanted to sue the elderly woman to the court.
Senora Jimenez, meanwhile, could not grasp what, in fact, everyone is unhappy.
However, after some time the attitude of the would-be restorer has changed dramatically. Having heard about the strange mural in the city began to come to the tourists. The servants of the temple quickly swept in and introduced a nominal fee for entrance, and beside the street there were souvenir shops. Ms. Jimenez now all love.
