New York-based artist Brad Warsh has created a series of emoji images superimposed on real photos. “The first time was an accident — a sad smiley face on someone’s face,” he says.

All pictures were taken on an iPhone, they can be found on Instagram. The goal of the project is to show how organically Japanese emoticons fit into our lives. “We use them without realizing it. They are completely integrated into our lives.”
