Every August, a stork named Klepatan is forced to leave his girlfriend Malena to migrate to South Africa. Unfortunately, Malena cannot fly away with him — 22 years ago she was wounded by a hunter, and since then she has been left alone and patiently waiting for her betrothed. And for the past 15 years, the faithful Klepatan, overcoming a distance of 13 thousand kilometers, returns to his beloved in March.

While the stork is in Africa, Malena is being cared for by a former school janitor. Storks built their love nest right on the roof of his house, which is located in the small village of Brodski Varos, Croatia. It was thanks to him that it became known about this story of true love.
