Why do cats throw objects off the table, and is it worth fighting it?

However, these animals often perform actions that are difficult to explain. Some of them are even annoying, but we can't do anything about it - the cat does its strange act again and again. Many consider one of the most outrageous habits of pets to be their tendency to push objects onto the floor. Why do cats do this and is there any point in fighting this habit?
If you have a cat, then you've probably noticed how she likes to move various objects to the edge of a table or other furniture. Fluffy pushes the thing onto the floor, while watching it fall with great interest. Sometimes such actions cause damage - dishes or gadgets are broken. Sometimes the owner simply cannot find a small detail that is important to him, and this is terribly annoying.
Most of us cannot explain these strange actions of animals. But experts have figured it out a long time ago and know why this happens. Veterinarian Ellen Whiteley says it's all about the cat's hunting instinct.
Ellen also explains why domestic predators lose interest in an object as soon as it is on the floor. The cat simply sees that the object lies motionless, which means that it has absolutely no prospects as an object of hunting.
But this is not the only reason why your things may end up on the floor. Cats are very observant and cunning animals. Once having dropped a glove or glass on the floor, the animal will notice that a person will certainly come up to pick up the object. After this, the cat happily uses the technique of throwing it to the floor to attract the owner’s attention.
This can happen when your pet is bored and wants to play. Some cats also use this technique to remind them that it’s time to feed. Of course, the animal does not understand the irritation that its actions cause in humans.
Is it possible to fight the mustachioed hooligan's urge to throw objects on the floor? Unfortunately, the prospects for such education are very doubtful. Instincts are usually difficult, and sometimes even impossible, to fight. The only thing we can do is distract the cat. The best way to do this is to use toys.
It is desirable that they be small so that the “domestic tiger” can throw, bite and ruffle them, satisfying his natural passion for hunting. Also, do not forget to play with the cat yourself - she will definitely appreciate your attention. A pet busy with play will be much less likely to pay attention to things that can be thrown down.
