What's beneath the water of Niagara: as repairing the famous waterfall

In 1969 bubbling water stream, collapsing on the American falls (with two fellow "Horseshoe" and "Veil" — it forms a set of waterfalls called Niagara), at the time, had shrunk to a modest trickle. While the nearby Horseshoe falls, took extra water volume, the experts examined the river bottom and secured with special bolts, a number of faults in order to slow down the process of erosion. And also strengthened the slope and constructed an earth dam.
