Passengers in those days flew like kings: enjoying their personal space, eating delicious food, drinking cocktails with a cigarette right in the chair. This is exactly what the "golden era of passenger aviation" looked like.

Of course, in real life, the aisles between the seats were not so wide: this advertising shoot took place in the studio, not on board the plane.

But still in those days the level of service was much higher than the modern one.

All these photos are from the archives of Swissair. And what about other airlines of those years? Was the flight to the 60s the same luxury? Definitely yes.

The photos show economy class seats. They also serve excellent on-board meals here. Please note that each seat is equipped with an ashtray.

The stewardess shows duty-free goods. Yes! In those golden days, you could buy a block of cigarettes right in the air…

Passengers could smoke on board while drinking cocktails.

Your health!
