However, photographer Valerio Vincenzo from the Netherlands, as part of his project called Borderline, Frontiers of Peace, shows the more inspiring side of the lack of dividing lines between countries.
His series of photographs is dedicated to the radical changes that have taken place in Europe since the signing of the Schengen Agreement. This treaty made it possible to erase the borders between the participating states and symbolized a giant step towards the gradual unification of Europe.
Armed with GPS and detailed maps, Vincenzo traveled through these erased borders, creating images that clearly demonstrate the essence of these "now peaceful cordons" and destroy the stereotypical idea of what the border looks like.
