A guest of an Australian hotel, who was quarantined on arrival, came up with an original entertainment. David Marriott, returning from London to Brisbane, was forced to quarantine in a hotel. Very soon, he got tired of watching TV – and decided to do something more fun!

After three days in a hotel room in isolation, David was ready to do anything to get some relief. He collected what was at hand and in direct access – paper bags, a plate, coffee capsules, an ironing board, a table lamp – and built a horse and a cowboy outfit for himself, a loved one.

A horse based on an ironing board and a table lamp was given the nickname "Russell". Coffee capsules became her eyes and nostrils, and David made her teeth out of white cardboard.

Every day the project caught the author more and more, and became more and more complicated. David was constantly coming up with new details to add, and got very involved in the process. Then he started posting videos on the Internet – and not just simple ones, but with exciting stories! For example, the story of a villain named Klingfilm Kid, who decided to steal Russell while he was sleeping.

Or the joke about David asking the hotel staff to take Russell out for a walk.

And, first of all, all this activity encouraged David personally. After all, his father had recently died – he had gone to London to attend his funeral. And then he returned home – and found himself, in accordance with the current rules, on a two-week quarantine.

David said that creating props is his profession, he has been doing this all his life. He still works as an art director for commercials. Soon his stay in quarantine ends. He hopes to take Russell and the rest of the props created in the hotel room with him. They already want to make Russell one of the exhibits of the art exhibition at the local film center! After all, he's now "a bit of a superstar," says David.
