"Visual Diary" by Street Photographer David Gibson

British photographer David Gibson is sure that worthwhile photographs can only be taken on the street and completely spontaneously. For over 30 years, he has been going out on the streets with a camera, shooting everything that seems interesting. Gibson does not consider his photographs art, but calls them a "visual diary." But fans of his work do not think so and highly appreciate the work of the master.

David Gibson lives in the suburbs of London, and most of his best work is done there. The photographer believes that, unlike the noisy and crowded center, the outskirts of the city are more colorful and interesting. Like many famous masters, Gibson began as an ordinary amateur.

He worked in social services and helped the elderly and disabled. These people became the first models for his photos. In the early 90s, Gibson began to go out on the streets with his camera. He found an interesting style for himself - he looked for colorful passers-by against the background of signs and street graffiti, obtaining interesting and funny effects.

After that, the photographer had periods that he calls "color," "black and white," "traditional," and "abstract." Now he does not delve into any particular direction, but switches from one to another, taking very different pictures. They all have one thing in common - they are always taken on the street. Gibson considers photography master Henri Cartier-Bresson his teacher.

Today, David Gibson is not only one of the most famous street photographers in the world. He writes books about the history of photography, guides for beginners, and personally conducts master classes. He willingly shares his experience and reveals professional secrets.
