Over the past week, dozens of tornadoes have hit state plains from Texas to Illinois. Late last week, 16 tornadoes tore through North Texas, killing at least 6 people. Numerous tornadoes hit Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa over the weekend, causing severe damage and killing two more people. A strong tornado swept past Oklahoma City. The National Weather Service predicts extreme weather in the same areas, including hail, lightning and tornadoes, for several more days.
