Twins who celebrated their 100th anniversary share the secret of longevity

Meet Irene Crump and Phyllis Jones — twin sisters who have just celebrated their 100th anniversary together. The twins were born 25 minutes apart on November 20, 1916, went to the same school, worked together at their first job at a porcelain company, and now live together in Stourbridge, UK. They are very close and friendly, despite the fact that they have spent almost a century side by side.

And recently the sisters celebrated an important and, admittedly, rare date — the 100th birthday. They called 48 guests and arranged a dinner. "We often celebrate a birthday together, and this day was no exception, we had a great time," shared the youngest of the sisters, Irene. — We also celebrated our 90th anniversary and 99th birthday together. Hard work and good food is our secret."

It is worth noting that the sisters asked their friends and relatives not to give them anything, but instead to transfer money to an air ambulance.

Irene said: "We've been friends all our lives and lived close to each other, and five years ago Phyllis moved in with me after her husband died. I can't walk long distances, and my sister walks around the block where we live every day."
