Tridrangar Lighthouse is the best place to survive the zombie apocalypse

The lonely Tridrangar lighthouse off the coast of Iceland is located at an altitude of about forty meters above the raging Atlantic Ocean. It is difficult to imagine a more secluded place than this fragment of civilization on the edge of the world, on a stone cliff, from where amazing views open.

The lighthouse is located on the highest of the three nearby rocks. From a certain angle, it seems that this rock called Háidrangur is sharp, but in fact it is quite flat and wide. And the only way to get there is by helicopter. One of the main conditions necessary for a flight to the island is clear, cloudless weather. And for Iceland, this is an infrequent phenomenon.

The Tridrangar Lighthouse on Vestman Island off the coast of Iceland was built back in 1939. At that time, helicopters were not used yet, so building on an inaccessible cliff in the middle of the ocean was an incredibly difficult task.

Previously, caretakers lived on this inaccessible island-rock, who were engaged in the maintenance of the lighthouse and alternately replaced each other. For many decades in a row, workers have been getting here by boat, then to climb to a dangerous height on a difficult climb among the rocks.

Today the lighthouse is fully automatic. Sometimes workers come here to check the condition of the lighthouse, fix possible problems. And the views from here are just incredible.

Pilot Gisli Gislason posted an amazing video from a helicopter when he and his team were approaching the island.

A team of workers spent the night on the island and were delighted with the view that opens from the island. The guys checked the equipment and the condition of the lighthouse, carried out the prevention of solar panels and electrical systems.

This unusual place inspired the Icelandic queen of suspense, writer Irsa Sigurdardottir to create the best-selling detective novel "Why Did You Lie?". The lighthouse also has its own Facebook page, although it can be assumed that the Internet on a hard-to-reach cliff leaves much to be desired.
