By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/top-10-alpha-heroines-of-modern-cinema.htmlThese women don't need men. They are not needed in the sense that such ladies themselves will not be confused in a difficult moment, they will cope with troubles that have fallen out of nowhere, maintain control over the situation and make the only right decision ... Yes, and they are able to stand up for themselves at any time. Seeing them on the TV screen, in the head of an unprepared man, the question probably involuntarily arises every time: so which of us is still the stronger sex?
In our today's rating, we have collected for you the 10 most courageous, determined and militant heroines of modern cinema.

10. Black Widow
The character under the sonorous name Black Widow was first mentioned in a comic book series published in April 1964. But, like any heroine that is popular with the public, sooner or later she had to appear on the screens of cinemas.
This is what happened in 2010. In the second part of the film "Iron Man" and subsequent films of the "Avengers" series, the American actress and singer Scarlett Johansson played the Black Widow. Having assessed the success of the character with the audience, the creators now do not exclude the possibility of filming a separate film about a superheroine.
9. Elizabeth Swann
Now, perhaps, it is very difficult to imagine in the role of Elizabeth Swann (the character of the famous Pirates of the Caribbean franchise) someone other than Keira Knightley.
The quiet life of her heroine - the daughter of the governor of an English colony - ends at the age of 17, when Elizabeth is kidnapped by pirates of the Black Pearl ship. But every cloud has a silver lining: it is thanks to the pirates that she finds happiness with her beloved Will Turner (played by Orlando Bloom) and meets the charming Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp). The acting of the latter and the success of the image he created also require special mention.
8. Ellen Ripley
For American actress Sigourney Weaver, her role in the Alien film series was a real breakthrough in her career. Her brave heroine Ellen Ripley is included in the rating of the most charismatic female characters in the history of cinema, and Weaver herself was nominated for many awards for her embodied image.
Throughout the four parts of Alien, Ellen is forced to do a job that is not at all female: to manage the space shuttle alone, sit in prison and kill stubborn monsters, saving not only her own life, but also the lives of the men around her.
7 Xena - Warrior Princess
The fantasy television series of the same name aired from 1995–2001 and ran for six seasons (134 episodes in total). The role of the main character - Xena, who knows no fear and doubts - was brilliantly performed by actress Lucy Lawless.
The plot is uncomplicated. In the past, Xena was a ruthless killer who led an entire army. But now she decided to take the path of goodness, and together with her comrade-in-arms Gabrielle (an observant viewer could easily see lesbian motives in this friendship), they go a long way, helping ordinary people in restoring justice.
6. Lola
The red-haired girl Lola (actress Franka Potente) has a boyfriend named Munny. Due to his blatant carelessness, he forgets a large amount of money in the subway. But the whole point is that Munny must deliver this money to his mafia boss within 20 minutes. Realizing the horror of the situation in which he finds himself, the guy turns to his beloved for help, and then Lola comes into play. The plot of the picture consists of a description of three options for the development of further events, each of which has its own ending, and begins with the same phone call.
Given the agreed time limit - 20 minutes - the heroine of the film "Run Lola Run!" (1998) really can't sit still. The dynamism of the development of the plot and the charm of the girl Lola provided the film with tremendous success among the youth audience. Also in total, the picture has 25 different awards and 13 nominations.
5. Bride (Black Mamba)
In Kill Bill, as in many of Quentin Tarantino's films, the plot is divided into chapters and largely non-linear. It will be all the more interesting for the viewer to be imbued with the author’s intention and get acquainted with the picture (if, for some incomprehensible reasons, he has not yet done this).
We will single out in the film the excellent acting of Uma Thurman, whose heroine, the Bride, is forced by life circumstances to commit many horrific acts: from carjacking to double murder.
4. Leela
The acting of Milla Jovovich is undoubtedly one of the greatest virtues of the fantastic action movie The Fifth Element, filmed in the now seemingly so distant 1997. The role of a beautiful girl who speaks an incomprehensible language and possesses incredible strength has become a landmark in the career of an actress.
Together with a simple taxi driver Korben Dallas (played by Bruce Willis), they are trying to save the planet from a flaming ball moving towards the Earth at great speed. As a result, it is the feeling that arose between the characters that turns out to be the fifth element that can prevent a catastrophe.
3. Sarah Connor
The militant Sarah Connor, whose role was wonderfully played by actress Linda Hamilton, is one of the main characters in the Terminator film series.
The vicissitudes of the plot, in which the heroine finds herself, are so complex that we could only understand them as teenagers, about 25-30 years ago (the first "Terminator" was released in 1984). We confine ourselves to mentioning that, by the will of the scriptwriters, the fearless Sarah fights against cyborgs, travels through time and relentlessly saves humanity from killer machines.
To a simple viewer, the character of Sarah Connor was remembered for her stamina and the ability to become only stronger under new blows of fate.
2. Catwoman
The film with this intriguing title was released in 2004. The main character was brilliantly played by Halle Berry.
Initially, Catwoman was a simple artist who one day had the imprudence to expose her boss's insidious plan. Leaving the chase, she fell from a great height and ... after a while she resurrected, thanks to the cat. From that moment on, the heroine Berry gained the ability to jump high and run along ceilings and walls. Now she was distinguished from a cat only by the absence of the need to have a tray and sharpen her claws on the sofa.
Realizing her newly acquired superpowers, Catwoman, without a second's hesitation, rushes to fight evil.
1. Lara Croft
The heroine of Lara Croft came to the big screen from a series of computer games. The first film about the adventures of the archaeologist and adventurer Croft (played by the amazing Angelina Jolie) was released in the summer of 2001. Throughout the picture, the heroine Jolie performs incredible somersaults, participates in fights, shoots at opponents and even kills them without blinking an eye.
After the release of the film, the story of Lara Croft was recognized as the most successful adaptation of computer games on the big screen, and Angelina Jolie once again confirmed her title as one of the sexiest actresses in Hollywood.
