Thumb Boy: Young Photo Manipulator

English photographer Zev, who goes online under the pseudonym Fiddle Oak, is only fourteen years old and started taking pictures at the age of eight. He affectionately calls his camera Betsy, and at the same time creates real conceptual works “in an adult way” with her help. Sometimes his older sister Nellie helps him, but still Zev does most of the work himself.

Despite his young age, Zev created an amazing and very unusual series of photographs, where he became the main character, a boy with a finger, showing the world from a completely different side, in the style of surrealism or magical realism. A series of photographs is called Little Folk (Little people).

The main feature of Zev's photographs is that the stalks of blades of grass seem like mighty trees, and the delicate petals of dandelions look like a parachute. Little Zev's journey has turned into a fascinating and even autobiographical photo story.
