The British tabloid Daily Mail published a photo in which the British military has a noticeably huge belly. This immediately provoked lively discussions on the web. And Colonel Richard Kemp, the former commander of the British contingent in Afghanistan, called for the dismissal of all fat men from the armed forces.
The soldier who was caught in the camera lenses belongs to a unit from Scotland, as can be seen by the patch. The man clearly needs the help of a nutritionist: his stomach bulges and rolls over the belt, posture and gait are broken. Judging by his appearance, the man also suffers from excessive sweating.
Such photos became popular after the heat of passions around the "fat man in military uniform".
In July 2018, data were published according to which, in the British army, more than 8,600 military personnel are obese. However, this information can be significantly downplayed.
In the Royal Navy there are 4,666 servicemen with extra kilograms, in the Air Force – 4274. This is the highest figure in the history of the British army.
Colonel Richard Kemp (pictured) says he is ashamed and embarrassed about the current state of the UK military. He also called the reason for the decline in the quality of personnel in the army:
A captured German officer looks with contempt at the British military.
The colonel believes that the requirements for professional military have significantly decreased recently.
According to data from July 2018, 16 soldiers in the British Army underwent liposuction, 398 suffer from type 2 diabetes, 160 take weight loss pills.
The hero of the report in the role of Peter Griffin from the TV series "Family Guy".
At the same time, the British Defense Minister promised that the crisis in the army would be resolved. Apparently, this did not happen.
The news gained considerable popularity in the Runet. Users responded with a number of funny pictures and photojabs, "reassuring" the British and noting that such shots are everywhere:
