The fashion of the 90s was determined by the return to minimalism after the more complex and vibrant trends of the 80s, although in the early 90s some of them were still considered very stylish. And yet, by 1992, the popularity of grunge and alternative rock had brought the simple, sloppy style of grunge into the mainstream.
The anti-conformist approach to fashion led to the popularization of the "casual chic" style, which consisted of T-shirts, jeans, hoodies and sneakers, and this trend continued in the 2000s. In addition, the fashion of this decade used the trends of the past years, especially the 50s, 60s and 70s.
