The story of Matthias Schlitte - a real German Hellboy
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-story-of-matthias-schlitte-a-real-german-hellboy.htmlEvery person has flaws. But turning them into virtues, especially if they are physical, is not given to everyone. The German Matthias Schlitte, who was born with a giant right hand, was able to do it. He not only overcame his complexes, but also learned to use his physical feature, becoming an arm wrestling champion.
Matthias Schlitte was born in 1987 in the German city of Haldensleben, Saxony-Anhalt. He was born the most ordinary baby, but after a couple of months, his parents noticed something was wrong. The boy's right hand grew faster than the left, and soon the difference became significant.
When Matthias was in school, his right hand was twice as big as his left. This made him a constant target for ridicule from his peers and an object of attention for curious adults. But the physical handicap did not make the boy angry at the whole world, and he learned to accept himself as he is.
Growing up, Schlitte generally stopped paying attention to stupid onlookers and lived an ordinary life. But one day everything changed. At the age of 16, Mattias was sitting in a bar, and one of the visitors invited him to compete in arm wrestling. The guy quickly placed his opponent's hand on the table. Then he did the same with several more visitors to the establishment.
Then he came up with the idea to go in for sports and make the most of what nature gave him. That's right, Schlitte realized that his big hand is not an ugliness, but a gift that can change his life. It is worth saying that the experience in the bar was the first in the life of Mattias. He did not know the rules of wrestling on his hands and, moreover, did not master the technique.
The guy began to be interested in this sport and found an experienced coach. Already 3 years later, at the age of 18, Schlitte made his first appearance at the German Championship. He immediately won a brilliant victory and became famous. And that was just the beginning. Matthias Schlitte is now a successful athlete and has traveled to more than 30 countries. He has dozens of gold and silver medals in his collection, and he is rightfully considered one of the most successful arm wrestlers on the planet.
Schlitte recalls with a smile his childhood years, when his hand aroused everyone's interest and served as a pretext for hurtful jokes. Mattias trains daily, developing his already powerful hand. Her forearm in girth reaches 48 cm, so when viewed from the right, the athlete looks like the sailor Popeye. Nevertheless, Schlitte chose a more sonorous pseudonym for himself. He performs under the name "Hellboy". This is a Dark Horse Comics superhero and action hero with a huge right hand made of stone.
It is also worth saying that the sporting successes of Matthias Schlitte irritate some people. Some experts believe that the German wins unfairly. After all, he performs in the weight category of 65 kg, while having the right hand of a heavyweight. But no one is going to rewrite the rules of arm wrestling for the sake of Matthias's hand. Therefore, he continues to win brilliant victories around the world.
