Photographer Rick Guest in the project What Lies Beneath ("What remains behind the scenes") shows what dancers are worth their skill. In these pictures the artists of famous ballet schools revealed an unexpected for the audience side instead of ease and grace we see their natural strong-willed beauty.

Rick Guest: "Dance is deliberately concealing from the observer the efforts that have been made to create it. But I think in relation to dancers that is not fair. Taking a look behind the scenes, you can get more enjoyment out of dance and to feel respect for the artists."

"The more I photographed the dancers, the more imbued them with a grace and sense of balance. For years I would have more respect for them as athletes, as artists and just as human beings. Because I began to understand what willpower is needed to achieve this success."
