By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-perfect-woman-what-is-it.html"We. Women" is a photo project by Lithuanian photographer Neringa Resalute (Neringa Rekašiute) about the real female beauty.
In his student years Neringa began to study the problem of the image of the female body in the media and came to the conclusion that we are constantly trying to impose a standardized ideal of female beauty. But is there a perfect beauty? Neringa believes that in the media the female body is portrayed as objects of sexual desire, images of women focused only on her looks, not her personality. According to Neringa, all this has a direct negative impact on a society in which most women are unhappy with their body and they because of this, there are various problems, including psychological. The perfect woman — what is it?
Three female photographer Neringa Resalute, Lithuanian actress and TV presenter Beata Tishkevich and PR specialist modest Kirite decided to protest against the distorted image of women in the media and has created a social project called "We.Women".
The goal of this project is to inspire women to accept and love their own body. As explained by the Creator of the project, women first need to understand what they really are, and then take your body with all the "internal and external scars".
Twelve courageous women agreed to participate in the project "We are. Women." They decided not only to open to the world and tell their stories, but also to stand in front of the camera in their underwear.
Each participant had their own painful experiences due to appearance. However, like most women who are ashamed of their body because it's either too thick, or too thin, etc.
Most of the twelve women who took part in a photo shoot actually was a bigger problem than just dissatisfaction with their bodies. One of them was suffering from anorexia nervosa, another from bulimia, the third from albinism. Some of the women struggled with severe depression. And one of the participants was diagnosed with cancer of the breast.
Women who are trying to keep up with the standards imposed by the media and at the same time accepted by the society, we live under constant pressure, since they always have to look perfect.
Relentless pursuit of a perfect appearance leads to the fact that women are constantly dissatisfied with his body, resulting in decreased self-esteem. That is why it is so important to talk about these issues and show real women's bodies — so say the authors of the project "We are. Women."
.
Beata Tishkevich stressed that "we are not only our body, the body is just a form of what is inside us."
After Beata post a description of the project "We are. Women" in your profile in Facebook, she began to write thousands of women from all over Lithuania.
Beata read all of their stories and chose 12 women who were invited to participate in the project "We.Women".
