It is enough to be a public person to get into the risk zone. And if you're also a cute life coach like Tony Robbins, then you definitely can't avoid accusations. BuzzFeed journalists spent a whole year, but gathered irrefutable evidence about the indecent behavior of the motivational speaker. To be honest, we were already beginning to worry that something was wrong with him.
The material, called "Unlimited Power", includes dozens of interviews, many audio recordings and various documents. Tony is accused of harassment not only by his employees, former and present, but also by visitors to lectures and seminars.
Robbins' assistants claim that the coach created a "sexual circle" of the fair sex around him, which was constantly replenished. The lecturer singled out individual women from the mass of visitors and showed them signs of attention. He also sinned by sending guards to the ladies he liked with a request to give him a phone number. The information provided by lovelace's subordinates was confirmed by many participants of the seminars.
Most of the harassment episodes described by Tony's assistants date back to the late 90s and early 2000s. One of the former employees told the unpleasant story of her short affair with the boss — they slept together by mutual consent, but after that he fired her. Two more women remembered that Robbins persistently harassed them and, ignoring the decisive "no", continued to show unpleasant signs of attention to them.
Two more girls said that they were running errands for the coach while in his room, while he was undressed or taking a shower. From the audio recordings presented as evidence, it became clear that Tony Robbins constantly criticized and even insulted girls who had been raped or beaten at home.
On one of the 2018 recordings, Robbins can be heard snapping at a woman who complained about her husband and calling her a "crazy bitch." He instilled in many girls that they practice lies in relationships in order to gain full control over their men.
Journalists found that sometimes the impudent Robbins was filled with fear for his unseemly actions, which could have consequences. In at least two cases, the coach's victims signed a non-disclosure agreement after incidents with sexual overtones.
Visitors to the lectures also complained about the strange advice of Robbins, who often called for "touching yourself and faking an orgasm," mainly addressing a female audience. In April 2018, when the participants of the "Me Too" movement showed maximum activity, the life coach allowed himself to criticize their statements and accused women of making a fuss just to give themselves importance.
The activists, having learned about Robbins' cheeky behavior, "ran over" him, so seriously that he hastily apologized and even promised to reconsider his behavior. Tony really didn't touch the nervous ladies from "Me Too" anymore, but in general his attitude to the fair sex remained the same.
Lawyers defending the interests of the life coach promptly responded to the accusations, parrying them with replies. Regarding the cases when Robbins was naked in the room with the assistants, they reported that such episodes could well have taken place, but it was not somehow connected with the presence of a number of women. Tony, in turn, repeatedly appealed to his fans and denied all cases of harassment that were attributed to him.
Journalists also published information about the pressure exerted by the law firm Lavely & Singer, hired by Robbins, on victims of harassment and on whistleblowers from BuzzFeed. Lawyers threatened the two heroes of the investigation with million-dollar lawsuits, and the publication with a "destructive impact on investors."
Tony Robbins, long known in the USA and Europe, became popular in Russia after his performance at the Olympic in Moscow, which took place in 2018. The most expensive tickets to the celebrity's lecture went for 500 thousand rubles. The participants of the event were disappointed with the low level of organization of the action, and the Russian-speaking segment of the network was filled with witticisms and outright mockery of simpletons who paid a lot of money to a visiting chatterbox.
