The neural network showed the real faces of Russian history

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-neural-network-showed-the-real-faces-of-russian-history.htmlWe are used to the canonical images of historical figures that are offered to us by famous artists and sculptors. We must admit that these are not the most reliable sources, because every artist sees a sitter in his own way, and some even painted portraits based on other people's images and memories. Blogger Denis Shiryaev brought artificial intelligence to the work of restoring historical justice and showed how Russian monarchs could look like in real life.
To get images of tsars and empresses, Denis Shiryaev used neural networks. He uploaded the most famous portraits of the rulers of the Russian Empire to the system, and the artificial intelligence made known conclusions to him alone and offered its own versions of appearance.
Denis warns that the portraits he received cannot claim to be absolutely reliable – this is just an assumption issued by a neural network. Despite this, it is quite clear that there is something in the images obtained – they are somehow more lively, human than the ceremonial portraits left by court painters.
What Denis Shiryaev does using neural networks can not be taken seriously, but his projects are always very interesting. See how he "revived" the heroes of well-known cartoons with the help of digital technologies.
