But the strong mother of six and part-time professional photographer pulled herself together and, with the help of her four-year-old daughter and other children with disabilities, launched a program aimed at making life easier for them in society and combating discrimination. As part of a campaign called "Redefining beauty", children and teenagers with disabilities can take part in promotional photo shoots.

1. The campaign slogan reads: “Everything that happens around is a visual world, and our goal is to show everyone how beautiful these people are. We think it's important for all the people who will be taking part in the commercial."
2. Katie launched her project last year, and during this time, many firms and companies turned to the photographer for providing them with models with disabilities. Often, such a request is made by sewing enterprises that produce clothes.
3. For example, the beautiful blue-eyed girl Grace took part in more than 40 advertising campaigns, and last year she was invited by actress Tori Spelling to advertise a children's clothing line.
4. And now, when the summer comes to an end, advertising posters and videos began to appear everywhere, telling about the beginning of the school year, but only in newspapers, on websites and in the media there were no pictures of children with disabilities.
5. “It seems that children who are different from the rest are not part of the total number of students who will return to school this year. Children with disabilities are just as excited and anxious about the day they have to go to school,” said Katherine.
6. So she decided to hold a promotional photo shoot for the upcoming school year with disabled children. Armed with stylish outfits and beautiful models, Katherine created a promotional photo shoot in a Chicago bookstore and once again gave children the opportunity to feel part of society.
