And everything would be wonderful if not for insects. As soon as the temperature starts to rise, all kinds of mosquitoes come out to hunt.
Getting rid of them is quite difficult, but, fortunately, there are simple and effective devices that you can make yourself. They will help you in the fight against insects.
Dan Owsley from Indiana created a device to combat horse flies. He worked with horses for several years and developed a simple but effective trap.
The design of the device is quite simple. There is a container mounted on wooden legs, which is wrapped in a black garbage bag and filled with soapy water. And above it there are two sheets of plexiglass, fixed at an angle of 45 degrees.
Surprisingly, the trap works. Horseflies rely on their eyesight when hunting. They see a black bag, think it can be bitten, and fly towards it. Here they inevitably collide with clear sheets of plexiglass and then fall into the soapy water, where they eventually drown.
For the trap to work, you need to change the water daily, otherwise the smell of dead horseflies will scare away their fellows. And the plexiglass must be clean so that it is not noticed. If everything is done correctly, horseflies simply have no chance of survival.
