Axford devotes all his free time to mushrooms, mostly shooting them near home. However, sometimes you have to explore them when traveling far from your native Australia — as, for example, in some of the pictures below, which were taken in China and Thailand.
Studying the flora and fauna, Axford captures mushrooms in incredible colors and such bizarre shapes that sometimes it seems as if they are alien plants or creatures.
