Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles

But in addition to all this brilliance, according to legends, the ghost of Marilyn Monroe lives here. Guests and hotel staff say that sometimes in the local corridors you can meet a ghostly blonde woman who clearly looks like Marilyn. Dalhousie Castle (Dalhousie). Spa Hotel in Edinburgh

This ancient castle was built in the 13th century and for many years served as the residence of the Earl of Dalhousie, the head of the Scottish clan Ramsay. In 1977, the count's family sold their estate, and today there is a spa hotel here. Dalhousie Castle is one of those historical attractions where you can easily meet a ghost. The local phantom is called Lady Catherine, or the Gray Lady. Presumably, she died of an unhappy love and since then has been making periodic visits to the world of the living.

Jamaica Inn in Cornwall

This place was described in her novel of the same name by the English writer Daphne du Maurier. Daphne really stayed in this hotel in the 30s, which has been a haven for smugglers since 1750. According to numerous eyewitnesses, this place is a hotbed of creepy ghosts, full of mysterious noises (footsteps, speech, the clatter of hooves, the creaking of carriages) and strange visitors (who disappear through the walls).

Hotel del Coronado in San Diego

This California hotel, built in 1887, also has its own rich history and is associated with the chilling mysterious story of the murder of a young woman. In 1892, a certain Kate Morgan, a beautiful married woman who, being pregnant, left her husband, stayed here. A few days later, her body was found on the steps of the hotel. Despite the fact that the incident was recognized as a suicide, over time, investigators came to the conclusion that Kate still fell victim to the killer. And after some time, the ghost of the murdered woman began to appear in the hotel. Most often, the ghost was seen in room 302, in which the unfortunate woman lived. At the same time, there are always many people who want to stay in this room and experience the whole range of thrills.

Langham Hotel in London

Guests of the London Langham hotel claim that in one of the windows of the 4th floor they often see the figure of a man in a military uniform. Most likely, this is the ghost of a German prince who jumped out of this very window before the outbreak of the First World War. The most common ghost is seen in room 333. A man in Victorian-era clothes is usually shown only in October. It is also rumored that the cellar of the Langham Hotel is haunted by the ghost of Napoleon III, who once stayed here as a guest. The 1797 building is rumored to be inhabited by seven ghosts. The most terrible story is connected with the ghost of a doctor who killed his wife and himself during their honeymoon, which they spent in this hotel.

Ballygally Castle Hotel in Northern Ireland

Located 20 kilometers from Belfast, this castle was built in 1625. Today, a hotel is located in this ancient building. In the corner tower of the castle, in a small room with drafts, which the hotel staff called the "Ghost Room", a woman's ghost is often met. This is the ghost of Lady Shaw, who died after falling out of the bedroom window where her husband locked her after the birth of their child. Located near Verona in Italy, this castle is full of stories and traditions of the 14th century. Today, the Relais Castello Bevilacqua is located in the castle — a romantic and luxurious four-star hotel that has preserved its medieval charm, accentuated by antique furniture, historical paintings and luxurious chandeliers. Legend has it that the castle is visited by the ghost of the former owner Guglielmo Bevilacqua, who burned down in a fire in 1884.

Dr Holmes (Geilo, Norway)

This four-storey hotel offers 127 rooms of various categories, a spa center, as well as a number of excellent restaurants and bars. After the mysterious three-day disappearance of the deceived wife, she was found hanged in the attic. Now her ghost, according to some stories, lives in room 320.

The Stanley (Colorado, USA)

Have you watched the horror movie "The Shining"? If so, then you will certainly recognize the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. The famous writer Stephen King stayed at this hotel, and it was here that he found inspiration for his novel "The Shining".

The Stanley Hotel was first opened in 1909 and became famous for the legends about the ghosts living in it. Hotel guests have repeatedly reported missing things, mysterious sounds, as well as ghosts living in the walls of the building.
