1. They were college roommates.

Prince William and Kate Middleton met in 2001 while both were attending the University of St Andrews. But it wasn't until 2002, when Prince William saw Middleton walking down the runway in a see-through dress, that she stole his heart for the first time. They started dating in 2003 and moved in together, sharing an apartment with two other friends.

2. They separated before tying the knot.

Sometimes we may have to go our separate ways before we realize that we want to spend the rest of our lives with someone. And for Prince William and Kate Middleton, this scenario was no different. In 2007, Duke broke up with Kate because he was in doubt about the relationship and needed some break.
