By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-legendary-lillian-bassman.htmlAmerican photographer Lillian Bassman (Lillian Bassman) is not accidentally called a photographer. Her works are really at the intersection of photography and fine art. The most famous works of Lilian are made in the genre of abstract expressionism.
Lilian Bassman is the art director of Harper's Bazaar magazine and a legendary photographer. She was self-taught and sought, as she claimed, "to get rid of the heaviness in photography."
Glenda Bailey, editor of Harper's Bazaar magazine, said of Lillian:
After the peak of fame in the 1950s and 1960s, in the early 1970s Lillian retired from working in the fashion industry.
In the 1990s, Ms. Bassman's negatives were found, which she did not use for work, and these negatives were enough to publish two books and several exhibitions.
