The late actor Anton Yelchin was a good photographer

In 2016, the American actor of Russian origin Anton Yelchin died, who tragically died under the wheels of his own car near his house. Yelchin starred in the 2009 film Star Trek and its sequels, but few people know about his photographic talent. A showroom and gallery in Los Angeles called Other organized an exhibition of Yelchin's photographs at the end of last year, and we decided to share some of them with you.

According to a press release that was distributed on the eve of the opening of the exhibition, the actor was going to take up photography as a second career. Photography was Yelchin's hobby, he worked on several assignments for a number of international publications. He chose the Other gallery as the venue for his first major exhibition, but this idea was realized only by the actor's relatives and relatives after his death.

The portraits and scenes from life that were presented at the exhibition are rich and dramatic. The footage was shot for six years. Yelchin shared some of them on Instagram with his fans. Most of the pictures were taken with disposable cameras, as well as a Leica camera.

"The goal was for this work to stand apart... it was important for him that his work was respected as a photographic art, and not because he did it," co—owner of the gallery and one of the curators of the exhibition Kelly Cole told LA Weekly.

Yelchin wanted to draw a clear line between the two careers, but in many photos the heroes are wearing masks and costumes that transform them and create catchy, shocking images.
