"The hero city of Dismemberment": where the "severed legs" of the hooligan hashtag grow from

Just the other day, unusual images similar to logos began to catch the eye on the web. In them, the theme of dismemberment of bodies is played out in every possible way, and they are united by a common St. Petersburg theme and an unusual "toponym" - Dismemberment. The hashtag #dismemberment unites these works, among which there are many very professional ones. Where did this creepy phenomenon come from and what is it related to?

As it turned out, there is nothing mystical in the logos of Dismemberment. Illustrations with bloody plots and painfully familiar St. Petersburg silhouettes are works for a competition announced in groups and telegram channels by the famous journalist, publicist and producer Alexander Glebovich Nevzorov, known for his caustic satire on what is happening in Events in Russia and the world.

As we can see, Alexander Glebovich is looking for talents and is going to give the world a new, extraordinary and, of course, hysterical brand of hurrah-patriots. Judging by the posts in Facebook and Instagram groups, there is no end to those who want to take a designer's vacancy, and the admins' personal accounts and directs are bursting with work.

We have thoroughly searched the expanses of the Runet and collected several logos and sketches that, without any doubt, deserve the attention of our readers. We hope that the authors and Alexander Glebovich himself will not be offended with us for this publication.

Where did such an unexpected idea come from? Most likely, it was not without an incident that less than a year ago shocked everyone with its cruelty and senselessness.

In early November 2019, the historian, associate professor of St. Petersburg State University Oleg Sokolov, killed his student lover in a fit of jealousy, dismembered her body and tried to drown her body parts in the Sink.

And what is the death of the Ukrainian rapper Andy Cartwright, in the world of Alexander Yushko, who was recently dismembered by a friend in the kitchen of a St. Petersburg apartment. Of course, there were other high-profile St. Petersburg dismemberments, but it's probably not even about them.

The very idea of associating a hero city, a city that was diligently served as the cultural capital and Mecca of the Soviet and then Russian intelligentsia, with a bloodbath, is not bad at all.

Isn't this a return to the historical truth, because no one will argue with the fact that the city of Peter, built on bones (sorry for the beaten stamp) and human grief, is soaked through with blood, a considerable proportion of which has stained the hands of those in power.

The beautiful St. Petersburg facades hide damp and creepy doorways that have repeatedly become places of bloody reprisals and storage of mutilated bodies.

Maybe the #dismemberment project is a way to make people think and remember that the titles "city of three revolutions" and "hero city" are not only a reason for pride, but also a good reason to reflect on what price people paid for it and who made them pay it.
