The gymnast broke both legs and admitted that she is now "really happy"

The famous American gymnast Samantha Serio (Samantha Cerio) recently had a shocking accident. At the Baton Rouge competition, the girl performed a double somersault and landed unsuccessfully, as a result of which she broke both legs.

On April 5, 2019, sports competitions were held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in which 22-year-old Samantha Serio, a gymnast from Auburn University, also took part. The girl performed a difficult jump — a double somersault — and landed unsuccessfully on her feet. As a result, her knees were literally turned in the opposite direction.

Later, the girl told about her feelings at that moment. According to her, she immediately realized that something was wrong, but at first she thought that she had simply bent her knees too much.

Only by looking down, she saw the whole essence of the problem. Her legs were literally looking the other way.

Then she had an attack of sharp pain, but the doctors promptly surrounded Samantha and carried her out on a stretcher.

In the hospital, the girls provided the necessary medical care. As reported later in the publication Nola, Samantha did not break her legs, but seriously damaged ligaments and dislocated both knees.

A few days later, the girl turned to her fans with a message about the end of her sports career. The girl also posted a post on Instagram, in which she shared touching photos taken over the years of her passion for gymnastics.

Later, in an interview with NBC reporters, Samantha said that, despite the injury, she feels happy. According to the girl, in a few weeks she will finish her studies at the university, get a diploma of an engineer in the aerospace industry, and start working for the company Boeing, where a place has already been assigned to her, and in a few months she will get married!

Samantha believes that these reasons are enough for joy, so she does not despair and tries to treat her situation more optimistically.

Now the former gymnast moves in a wheelchair, but she intends to walk down the aisle on her own two feet.

According to Samantha, most of all in this situation she is upset and angry with people who post photos and videos of her fall on social networks. After the pain she went through, it's just unbearable to look at such shots, the girl admits.
