New job Sarina Finkelstein the "New 49th" is an exploration again renewed gold rush in California during the Great economic downturn. Because gold is valued at all times. Now the pictures of this series can be seen in the Center of photography in Portland, Oregon. "Gold is the main theme of the exhibition and the object that binds them together, says photographer Sarina Finkelstein. – But it is also a metaphor for its value that we all seek in life, something for which we can risk everything. I'm interested in the group of people living outside of social norms, combined with a consuming goal, to find gold, as well as their courage and personal sacrifices in order to achieve this goal. People that in desperate times desperate to be lean and confident. They like just to get something fragile and valuable, as a nugget out of the ground with their hands. Every day is an adventure, filled with hope and anxiety, because each stroke of the shovel can become gold!"
