Most often, Lazar removes people, while trying to reveal the essence of a particular people. In his portraits, residents of different countries pose in national costumes, work, hunt, play, communicate or just relax. Even a homeless old man in the slums of Calcutta, David can capture vividly and interestingly.
David Lazar was born and raised in Brisbane, on the east coast of Australia. This is a city by the ocean, in the most picturesque region of the Green Continent. There he began his career as a photographer, shooting beaches, picturesque rocks and coral reefs. But soon it was not enough and Lazar went on a journey that has been going on for many years.
Now the photographer is at home very rarely, passing through. He believes that his home is the whole planet, and all people are his neighbors. Perhaps that is why David manages to make portraits of people whose language he does not know amazing in beauty and expressiveness. He himself assures that the language barrier bothers him the least in his travels, because a smile and benevolence perfectly replace long speeches.
Most often, David is asked how he manages to take pictures of people of different nations and religions. After all, many at the same time face prejudices and other insurmountable obstacles that interfere with work. Lazar answers this simply:
And now imagine that the photographer knows all the heroes of his pictures personally! The second person with such "connections" around the world still needs to be searched for!
And here are some more tips from the travel photo master Cole Rice.
