Anita Turner lives in Bexhill-on-Sea, a seaside town located in the county of East Sussex. Recently, a woman decided to go on a cruise to Belgium, but, as it turned out later, she forgot to take the most important thing with her — her passport.

Anita noticed the loss far from immediately, because instead of her own document, she took her daughter's passport with her. In the photo in it, Rebecca is only 23 years old.

Anita said that she realized her mistake only when she was collecting tickets at the port of Dover in Kent. But instead of returning home, the woman decided to continue her journey and check whether the border guards would guess that she was not depicted in the passport photo.

Together with her friends, Anita went to the city of Adinkerk, located in the west of Belgium. Here the company planned to buy alcoholic beverages and cigarettes at a low price, and then move back.

Anita had to go through the checkpoint again and, to the surprise of her friends, the inspectors did not notice the catch. And this is despite the fact that Miss Turner lit up the document twice — during registration and during passport control.

Anita couldn't believe her luck for a very long time. At one point, it even seemed to her that her secret was revealed. The man sitting in the booth collected all the passengers' passports, studied them and conducted a roll call. When the name "Rebecca" sounded, Anita timidly said "I", and the document was returned to her.The woman is very upset about the situation, because the border service officers showed their inattention and incompetence.

Although Anita and Rebecca are really similar, the age difference between the female tourist and the girl in the passport photo is obvious.

Charlie Elphicke, a member of parliament from Dover, after learning about the incident, said that this once again proves "the importance of investing in modernizing borders."

What do you think about the incident? Do you think mother and daughter are really so similar that they can be confused?
