The British are going crazy - in England there was a championship in gravy wrestling
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/the-british-are-going-crazy-in-england-there-was-a-championship-in-gravy-wrestling.htmlAs you know, many unusual competitions and championships are held in the UK - these are races in the mud, and shooting from human catapults, and rolling cheese, and much more. So this gravy wrestling championship is not inferior to its kind in extravagance and eccentricity.
Actually, everything is simple: half-naked men and women are fighting in a viscous brown liquid. The most provocative wins, and the funds raised go to charity.

2. An impromptu ring was filled with a thousand liters of meat sauce prepared in a pub, but during the active battle, another 500 liters of a viscous liquid had to be added. As one of the participants of the championship noted, "it was very sticky to fight."
3. According to the rules of the championship, the contestants fight in meat gravy in twos. There are judges, referees, and, of course, spectators.
4. This year's competition was attended by 14 men and six women (representatives of different sexes competed separately).
5. "Wrestlers" fought in pairs, each fight lasted about two minutes.
6. It was not the strongest participant who won, but the one who entertained and made the audience laugh the most.
7. The winner of the 8th championship was Joel Hicks.
8. Funds collected during the event were donated to the local hospice.
9. The amount of the donation is not specified, but it is known that in previous years the organizers managed to collect from three to three and a half thousand pounds (about five, but not more than six thousand dollars).
