The best photos of the year taken with bad and cheap cameras

Categories: Culture | Exhibition

A few days ago, an exhibition of works by the winners of the annual Krappy Kamera photo contest closed at the Soho Photo Gallery in New York. According to the organizers, the task of the contest is to show that expensive equipment is not a key factor for really good and talented photography.

This year's winners were American photographers Kim Sho and Deanna Foran and New Zealander Eddie Wexler. Several works were awarded special mention by the jury — for example, a photograph by Ukrainian photographer Armen Dolukhanyan.

The main condition for participating in the photo contest is to use inexpensive cameras like Holga, Diana or Ansco, and cheap lenses.
