And throughout the year during the flight, Kelly and his partner, Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko, took part in various studies that allow scientists to better understand how the human body reacts to and adapts to long stay in space.
During the flight, Kelly took photos of the stunning views from the space station almost every day and posted them on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Since the astronaut mission ends on March 2nd, NASA decided to select the best photos of our amazingly beautiful planet.
