64-year-old Barry Becco from London was at the helm of the male striptease at the turn of the 1980-90-ies and enthusiastically watched how his "bad boys" won the main prizes at competitions around the world, only occasionally stopping for performances.
He founded Dreamboys (now a separate company) after seeing the famous Levi's jeans ad from 1985, where Nick Kamen undresses in the laundry room.
Becco worked as a hairdresser-stylist, and then as a magazine publisher. A moment of insight gave him to understand that barely dressed men can be sex symbols and advertise products. This revelation inspired him to create a men's modeling agency.
"Many people thought I was crazy," says the author of the memoir. But after he threw a party in honor of the launch of the agency at the London racetrack in the presence of two thousand women, he realized that he had found a niche in the market.
Soon, Berry moved his new show-a striptease with 14 men-to a club on Wardour Street in London, and on the first night, excited women lined up in a huge queue that stretched all over the block.
For three years of performances at the club on Wardour Street, everyone came to see the guys in action, from the actress Barbara Windsor to the band Bananarama. Strippers were invited to talk shows on television.
He himself did not notice how he had already traveled with the troupe in Russia, Germany, Greece and Malta.
One of the most piquant memories of that time is associated with "jumping on cars", a game that strippers came up with to entertain themselves during a traffic jam on the autobahn in Germany.
Instead, they decided to check how many women will be able to" make happy " right in their cars.
One of the most famous Dreamboys participants was Jason Steele, who worked as a personal trainer for Princess Diana in his spare time from striptease.
Barry even met Diana with the Dreamboys in 1991 at a ball in honor of her birthday, although then Jason hid in the bushes.
In the following years, the strippers communicated with various celebrities, from Cliff Richard to the Spice Girls, and even starred in their film.
Bary and the Dreamboys parted ways in 2011, and he began working on creating his own show called Dream Idols.
