Tasmania National Park offers any couple a home and a job — look after the island

Categories: Travel

Such a proposal will seem like a paradise vacation to some, and to others — a thriller scenario: it depends on how strong the relationship in the couple is. Tasmania National Park is looking for a couple to take the place of the caretakers of Matsiker, a 186-hectare island that is located almost 10 kilometers from the southern coast of Tasmania. The offer assumes work in the period from March to September (or from September to March) for the next two years.

For "security reasons", couples are invited to the island who "will prove that they can spend a lot of time together in a remote area." And if you are in each other's company with pleasure, and do not mind living on an "occasionally rain-washed and often wind-blown island" with minimal contact with the outside world, then this dream job is for you.

You can only leave the remote island by helicopter, and then in case of an emergency. You will be completely cut off from the mainland. Have we already said that there is no Internet and no TV?

Applications are accepted until January 30, 2017.
