Stripper from Gaza: "I am Haram"

Her name is Ari Lauren Souad said. Her mother was Israeli and her father was Palestinian. The childhood she spent between two conflicting and constantly warring faiths and cultures. In adolescence she was sent to Texas to live with her grandparents, where she lived together with four – year-old daughter, Avigail-Jerusalem. Afternoon – mother, and at night – dancer strip clubs known as the "Gaza Stripper". With 18 years she worked as a stripper in Austin and at strip clubs located around military bases. Also, Ari was a single mother. After Ari was putting daughter to bed, she would go to work in a strip club, where he worked all night and came home in the morning. Then she took Avigail-Jerusalem to school, drove back home and go to sleep. The girl's father left the family when Ari was 8 months pregnant.

Ari was previously a model for Suicide Girls and on her body a lot of tattoos with quotations from English literature, political and religious quotations, in Arabic and Hebrew, as well as what she called "cute" animals. Her fists tattooed "West Bank", which means "West Bank" and at the same time one of its inscriptions in Hebrew reads "I don't believe in God." Her other tattoo in Arabic says "I am Haram (sin)".

Ari died in a car accident on may 28, 2011. She was only 27 years old.
