Wu Huan was born in 1995 in a remote area of Guizhou Province, which is considered the poorest in China. When the girl turned 4, her mother died, and by the age of 18 she lost her father. Huan's younger brother, suffering from a mental illness, was left in the care of Huan.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to save Huan. This story caused a wide resonance in society and forced Chinese President Xi Jinping to issue a decree on the eradication of "absolute poverty" in the regions by the end of 2020. According to statistics, about 150 thousand people live below the poverty line here. Their annual income is 627 yuan (5.6 thousand rubles).
