Spring in Norilsk: roofs blow off houses, people are evacuated

While you and I continue to complain about the cold and hate down jackets, the wind is raging in Norilsk, which can hardly even be called squally.

“In the entrance, a window was blown out, huge pieces of the roof fell from the roof, about a meter in length. I think that 10-15 pieces definitely fell off, half flew away, we were still lucky,” eyewitnesses say.

These people were really lucky, the bad weather left some houses without a roof at all. Apartments in high-rise buildings, where the roof was completely blown away, were flooded due to heavy snowfall - the snow that got inside quickly melted. In some areas of the city, water supply and heating may be interrupted for a long time.

During the day, women were evacuated from work on buses. Schools have suspended classes.

The wind is so strong that it pulls pillars out of the ground, overturns not only cars, but also huge trucks. It makes no sense to mention how people who are on the street feel - the hurricane even turns planes at the airport. Several cases have already been recorded that have led to the death of people.
