So when she saw this creature in her garden in broad daylight, a resident of the Isle of Wight (Great Britain), Sharyl Huynes, was quite surprised! In addition, sonya clearly suffered from greed — she climbed into the bird feeder, and could not get out of it…
After a hearty lunch, for some reason it turned out that the feeder became a little cramped. That's how much food you had to eat to eat the sides like that! The unfortunate creature sat in a plastic cylinder for two and a half hours, having eaten millet and sunflower seeds, and the birds that flew up to peck at the seeds did not bother him at all.
Sharyl didn't know what to do in this situation, so she turned to Katherine Holder, a rodent specialist, for advice. She wrote to her on Facebook and sent her photos of the dormouse stuck in the feeder. The pictures amused everyone who saw them.
Catherine Holder said that dormice do not usually go into the gardens, and if they do, it is at night. She confirmed from the photo that it was indeed a dormouse, and we need to carefully pull it out and carry it closer to the grass, where it can hide.
Everything was done exactly as she had said. Plump sonya was rescued from captivity and she went home to the forest. Probably, soon it will fall into hibernation for six months — especially since it has eaten for a long time ahead.
