Sleep: what happens to the bodies of the dancers after the last musical chord

The body of the dancer in motion is a great car. Each stroke, a glance, every step is part of a complex well-honed scheme. Photo of Nira Flocks Ariely shows what happens with a tight, fit body of a professional dancer at the moment when the dance stops. In translation into Russian "flocks" has two values "group" or "bunch", if we are talking about people and "herd", if we are talking about animals.

"Dancers for me — a special species of beings from another planet, says NIR. — All of them — a close-knit group of people whose lives are woven by a shared desire to create, train together, travel together and show your creativity to people."

While shooting Ariely took on the role of "choreographer" and has asked companies to realize the phrase he uttered: "let the dynamics will leave your body and let your body be as close as possible to each other, arms and legs intertwined," "do not allow space to separate you from each other."

According to the photographer, it was interesting to observe how each group of dancers creates its own "individual picture", a unique physical interaction.

NIR hopes his photo project will help to create an alternative picture of the world of modern dance — one that often remains in the shadows: "My interest in dance photography is far from mainstream. I'm not so much interested in the movement itself, how many moments prior to and immediately after its termination."
