The article, titled "Angelina Jolie solo," begins with the words "Angelina Jolie is now a single mother." The actress spoke frankly about how she brings up children in a new home, establishes relationships with her father, makes movies and manages to combine all this. Jolie also discussed her divorce and its consequences for children and admitted that she herself had serious health problems on a nervous basis.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt broke up in September last year, at the same time the 42-year-old actress filed for divorce. All this time she kept silent and did not talk about what was going on in her soul. Ten months after the breakup with her husband, Jolie gave a candid interview to Vanity Fair magazine, telling about the last months spent under the same roof with Pitt, and about her new life without him.
Recently, the actress purchased a new house in Los Angeles worth $ 25 million. Jolie and the children spent the first nine months after the divorce in rented housing. According to Angie, the new house has become a fortress for the family: "We have been through a very difficult time. The new house is a huge step forward for us. We try our best to heal the family."
Jolie did not give a specific reason why she filed for divorce. According to the actress, the relationship between her and her husband deteriorated last summer: "Everything became bad." Then, after a pause, Jolie added that she would not like to use the word "bad" in relation to Pitt, and clarified: "Everything has become too difficult."
The divorce, which, by the way, has not yet been finalized, has become a huge stress for Jolie and Pitt's children – the couple has six of them: Shiloh, Zahara, Pax, Maddox, Knox and Vivien. The actress assures that she tried as much as possible to protect them from everything that is happening and not to show up in front of the children in a depressed state.
Jolie noted that under the circumstances, her children behaved very decently and became her support during the most difficult time. And she herself did everything to be a good mother and not upset the children. "I was very worried about my mother when I was growing up — very much. I don't want my kids to worry about me. I think it's better to cry while taking a shower than to burst into tears in front of the children. They should know that everything will be fine, even if you are not sure about it yourself," the movie star shared.
It turned out from the interview that constant stress and worries led to the development of hypertension and facial nerve paralysis in the actress. In addition, she found more gray hair. "I don't know exactly what caused it — menopause or just a hard year. Often married women do not think about themselves until they suddenly face their own health problems. In fact, I feel like a woman, because I put my family in the foreground," the actress said.
During the divorce process, Angie focused on household chores and raising children. "I just wanted to be an ordinary housewife at that moment: keep an eye on the house, wash dishes, feed dogs and read bedtime stories to children," says Jolie.
Angelina Jolie is not only an actress, but also a director. In February 2017, her film "First They Killed My Father: Memoirs of a Daughter of Cambodia" about the Khmer Rouge regime was released — based on the autobiographical book of the same name by Lung Un, whom Jolie calls her closest friend. 15 years ago, Un helped Jolie adopt Maddox, and now she's going through a breakup with Pitt. "I was crying on her shoulder," the actress admits.
The attention of social media users in the article was particularly attracted by a seemingly insignificant episode: a story about how a children's casting for a film about the genocide in Cambodia took place. Jolie said that she decided to take real Cambodian boys and girls from poor areas for the roles of children (the film was shot in Khmer). To choose a girl for the role of Moon Un, the actress put orphanage or just poor children at the table, put money in front of them and offered to dream about what they would spend it on. And then she took the money and looked at the reaction. To many, such casting seemed unethical.
Jolie stresses that she is not going to sit still (the day after the interview, she and her children flew to Namibia and Kenya as part of a campaign to prevent sexual violence) — but the family is in the first place for her now. According to her, most of all she wants to live in a house and cook breakfast for children — she even started taking cooking lessons. "Every day before going to bed, I think: was I a great mom today —or was it an ordinary day?"
