The problem of waste disposal is becoming more acute for modern people. The consumer society dictates its own rules, flooding the planet with all sorts of packaging, outdated goods and household garbage. On average, a modern person produces from 1 to 1.5 kilograms of waste per day.

American photographer Gregg Segal (Gregg Segal) invited several families from California to go on an unusual experiment. He asked them not to throw out the garbage for a whole week. As a result-a visual demonstration of the environmental crisis in the shocking cycle of works "7 days of garbage" (7 Days of Garbage).

The author of the project suggested that all participants do not throw out garbage for a week, and then come to him with the contents of their trash can. By spreading all the waste on the grass, sand or water surface, the photographer demonstrated how much waste a person accumulates in a very short time.

"I decided to photograph people against a natural background in order to demonstrate all the unpleasant contrast and at the same time emphasize the danger of waste to the environment. It is important for me to show how much unnecessary garbage each of us produces, " the photographer said.
