Scientists have recreated the face of Queen Nefertiti, and it does not look very similar to the famous bust

Researcher Aidan Dodson (Aidan Dodson) was able to make a three-dimensional scan of the discovered mummy from the Valley of the Kings, after which paleoartistic Elizabeth Deinis (Elisabeth Daynès) drew Nefertiti's face.
The mummy was discovered in the XIX century in a tomb together with the mummy of Pharaoh Amenhotep II. The mummy was nicknamed "The Young Lady", although for a long time it was believed that the remains belonged to a young man — because of the shaved head.

Aiden Dodson received permission to remove the protective glass case in which the mummy is stored and examine it. Using three-dimensional scanning, he made a digital map of the face of the "Young Lady". Then, based on a three-dimensional model and methods of forensic medicine, paleohudozhnik Elizabeth Deinis, formerly known for reconstructing the appearance of Tutankhamun, recreated the appearance of an ancient mummy. It took Deinis 500 hours to work.
Archaeologists have not yet come to a consensus on who owns the mummy of the "Young Lady". In 2003, it was suggested that the remains belonged to Queen Nefertiti, but the former Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities of Egypt, Zawi Hawass, criticized the hypothesis, and subsequent DNA analysis gave grounds to assume that the "Young Lady" was the daughter of Queen Tia and Amenhotep III, the wife and sister of Akhenaten, Nefertiti's husband, and the mother of Tutankhamun.
Nevertheless, Aiden Dodson believes that the resulting image is similar to the famous bust of Nefertiti and suggests that the mummy belongs to the great queen.
To be honest, it seems to us that the resulting image does not look very similar to the bust that everyone knows well from school.
Thanks to the bust of the sculptor Thutmose, Nefertiti is considered one of the most beautiful women in the history of mankind. She was also one of the most powerful queens and ruled during the heyday of the Ancient world. However, like many other female figures in history, her legacy and other important information about her identity have been lost.
