Scientists have determined that all cats are psychopaths

We believe that cats have different characters, from affectionate and timid to independent and even aggressive. But scientists from the UK have found out that all cats, regardless of their disposition, are psychopaths. For animals, this is normal, since their ancestors were wild predators. For survival in nature, light madness is perfect.

To draw similar conclusions, scientists from the University of Liverpool studied thousands of domestic cats. Based on these studies, a questionnaire of 46 items was created. With its help, you can analyze the behavior of an animal.

The questionnaire includes statements that need to be highlighted if they are true. They look like this: "my cat tortures its prey, and does not kill it immediately" or "the cat meows loudly for no reason." There are also questions in the test concerning the manifestation of aggression towards a person.

This is the opinion of zoopsychologist Rebecca Evans, who led the scientific work. The test, called CAT-Tri+, can be considered the most accurate tool for determining the character of cats. According to Evans, behavioral problems become the reasons for owners' refusals from pets in 38 percent of cases.

The unbalance of cats, quite normal for these animals, scares people. Rebecca Evans claims that because of this, the main cause of death of domestic cats was euthanasia. Testing can be used by owners or veterinarians to identify undesirable behavior. This will allow improvements to be made to the feline environment appropriate to their character. At the same time, the researchers emphasize that it is impossible to judge a cat as a person.
