Sasha Samsonova: the way from Uzhgorod to personal photographers Kylie and Kendall Jenner

Photographer and director Alexandra Samsonova is a simple Ukrainian girl from Uzhgorod who managed to realize her dream. Since 2014, she has been living and working in Los Angeles, and her clients have become the first persons of the musical Olympus and the modeling business. Samsonova is a true professional who started his career small. 

Sasha picked up her first camera at the age of 15 and it was a cheap digital soap dish. After experimenting a little with the "digit", Samsonova bought an old film Zenit. Just this "old man", with whom the girl had not parted for many years, opened her way into the world of professional photography.

After graduation, her parents gave her a Canon EOS 5D Mark II, which seemed like a real miracle. It was on this camera that Samsonova shot her first serious project for the gloss of Harper's Bazaar. The magazine organized a shoot of young Ukrainian fashion designers and among the participants was Sasha's friend Vika.

It's interesting, but then Sasha, although she was fond of photography, saw herself not with a camera, but on stage. The girl was seriously engaged in dancing and planned to make it her profession.

The girl was confused by the fact that the dancer's century was short-lived. Then you will inevitably have to train someone or look for a new profession. Sasha didn't want to be a mentor, so she gave up dancing right before entering the university. Samsonova chose the Directing Faculty of the Kiev National University of Theater, Film and Television. And... she didn't. To get to the university, where she is now invited to lecture, she did not have enough passing ball.

Samsonova successfully passed the exams at the private Kiev International University. There she studied television and directing, and photographed in her spare time. After receiving the diploma, the young specialist was immediately hired by a publishing house that produced Pink, L'Officiel and XXL in Ukraine. Sasha later signed a contract with Marie Claire and Elle.

Photographer Samsonova became in demand in the fashion industry, first in Ukraine and Russia, and then in Europe. At the age of 23, Sasha realized that she was cramped in Europe and decided to move to the USA. Overseas, she began to study directing and continued to shoot. Despite the complete absence of acquaintances and connections, Samsonova managed to loudly declare herself in a short time.

Now Sasha Samsonova is working with the stars of the first magnitude. She is the personal photographer of Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the director of P!nk and Ciara clips and Nike and Adidas promotional videos.
