The Hollywood actor of Dutch origin passed away on July 19 at the age of 76. His agent clarified that Hauer was buried on Wednesday, July 24.
Hauer, who spoke several languages, began his acting career in the 1960s in his native Netherlands, where he was a real star. The world-famous artist, who was idolized in his homeland, once admitted that he never wanted to act in a movie, because he is very shy. But his fate was different.

Hauer failed to become a sailor because of an innate peculiarity - color blindness. Returning to his homeland, he worked as a carpenter, engaged in stage decorations, worked at a car wash, and at the age of 18 he entered the theater institute in the Swiss city of Basel. Fame first came to the actor in 1969, when he played in the television series "Floris" by Paul Verhoeven.
Further cooperation with the famous director brought Hauer worldwide popularity, and in the early eighties the actor began working in Hollywood.
