Robin Hood has appeared among computer viruses

Computer viruses are created in order to harm or extort money. But extortion can be used for different purposes, for example, to help the poor or orphans. This is exactly what the world's first "noble virus" Goodwill does. This program, like many others, blocks the operation of the computer. But this is not done for the sake of self-interest, but with the best intentions.

The Goodwill virus has already been dubbed "Robin Hood". A computer infected with the program cannot be used, since all information on its disks is encrypted. The problem can be solved by entering a special code. But to get it, you need to do something special.

Goodwill requires you to perform three socially oriented actions for decryption keys. The tasks may be different, but they are united by concern for the least protected segments of the population. For example, a key can be obtained by transferring money to people in need of treatment, buying warm clothes for the homeless, or paying for a visit to KFC for children.

The uniqueness of the new virus is also in the fact that the victim must confirm the fulfillment of all requirements. Charity events are filmed and photographed, and all transfers and payments are made with screenshots. The owner of the infected computer should post all these documents in social networks and provide a small explanatory text.

Victims of hackers should tell everyone how the Goodwill virus helped them turn into good people. Only after checking the post, the creators of the virus send the user a key that brings the computer back to life. For the first time, Goodwill was discovered by employees of the Indian company Cloudsek, engaged in information security. It is not yet known how long this virus has existed and who is behind it.
